Starting again after a long pause
A pause does not create a duty to catch up. Begin with present wishes and practical questions rather than assumptions about past comfort.
Ask what has changed
Discuss interest, privacy and any relevant care instructions from a qualified professional. Earlier experience does not prove current readiness. You can want companionship or information without wanting a product or sexual activity.
Recheck familiar objects and plans
Read the manual again and inspect any product stored for a long time. Check condition, power and care rather than assuming it is ready because it once worked. A shared plan should include a clear way to pause or stop.
Keep the pace optional
There is no required sequence or deadline. Stop for pain and seek individual advice for ongoing or severe symptoms. After surgery, childbirth or illness, use the guidance of the professional responsible for your care rather than treating a general article as clearance.

Before you decide
What do I want now, and what have I assumed from an earlier chapter?
