Small rituals that leave room for choice
A small ritual can create an opportunity for company. It should remain worthwhile without an expected sexual outcome.
Choose a shared activity
If welcome, agree on a short walk, meal or uninterrupted conversation. Ask which activity fits current energy and privacy. Do not make one person responsible for planning every occasion or proving that the relationship is improving.
State what is optional
Make clear that attending does not imply agreement to touch, sex or a later activity. A cancelled evening should not create a debt. Keep the routine small enough to change and do not rank the couple against other people’s habits.
Ask whether it helps
After trying it, ask what felt useful and what added pressure. A routine can be dropped without failure. These are editorial suggestions, not a treatment for distress or low desire. Recurring conflict, pain or fear may need appropriate support.

Before you decide
Would both of us still choose this ritual if it never led anywhere else?

- NHS: Low sex drive (loss of libido)
Explains that desire changes can have several causes and that concerns can be discussed with a clinician. It does not diagnose an individual or prescribe a timetable.
